Falmouth, Maine, Stand Named Among Best ‘Hole-in-the-Wall’ Burger Joints in America
One of the least difficult menu items to find in America is a classic burger. From fast food chain that have built their business around it to sit-down restaurants that include an entire menu section for it, the burger is an American classic.
But that doesn't mean it's done right. True burger perfection can't be found everywhere. Which is why Cheapism scoured the country in hopes of finding the places that have it down to a science. Places that aren't fancy about it, just your average hole-in-the-wall.
Harmon's Lunch Named Among Best Hole-in-the-Wall Burger Joints in America
Scattered throughout the state of Maine are a bunch of old school food stands who hang their hang their hat doing one thing great. Harmon's Lunch in Falmouth, Maine, is one of those places.
According to Cheapism, their burgers are small but incredibly flavorful. The bun is melt-in-your mouth delicious and if you get your burger "loaded", you simply won't be sorry about the outcome.
Just a reminder though, Harmon's has a long standing agreement with the bank. The bank won't serve burgers and Harmon's won't extend lines of credit. So bring some cash.
Harmon's Isn't The Only Burger Joint in Maine Using This Simple Method
If you've ever made a trip to Roy's All-Steak Hamburgers in Auburn, you know the similarities between Harmon's and Roy's are unmistakable.
Both places specialize in small but flavor-packed burgers. Both places serve hand cut fries best enjoyed with a splash of vinegar and tangy ketchup. Both places have been food institutions in their communities for decades.
