Hugh Jackman Makes Surprise Appearance in Ogunquit, Maine

There's just something about a surprise appearance that makes most people's insides flutter.

That's how the crowd at a benefit gala in Ogunquit, Maine, felt on Wednesday evening when every member the audience was stunned by a surprise appearance.

That appearance was by superstar actor Hugh Jackman. And he wasn't just there to shake hands and take photos.

Hugh Jackman Joins Sutton Foster On Stage in Ogunquit, Maine

In 2022, Hugh Jackman starred alongside two-time Tony award-winning Sutton Foster on Broadway in the revival of The Music Man.

The two headlined more than 400 appearances and The Music Man is credited with kickstarting Broadway again following the pandemic.

Jackman and Foster had not shared the stage since the ending of The Music Man run in 2023 until they teamed up again for a duet at the Ogunquit Playhouse.

Jackman and Sutton's unforgettable performance capped a night where the Ogunquit Playhouse raised an astounding $3 million dollars for the theater's Next Century campaign.

Hugh Jackman is No Stranger to Visiting Maine

Several years ago at the height of Hugh Jackman's stardom portraying Wolverine in the X-Men movie universe, the actor came to Maine for some rest and relaxation.

Jackman did what many other visitors to Maine do, he spent some time in Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park taking in the scenery and many of the delicious food options.

Speaking of food, Jackman's love of Maine seafood led to a national story during his time on Broadway. He invited The Clam Shack in Kennebunk, Maine, to visit the production and bring their famous lobster rolls as well as other items back in 2022.
