Lewiston, Maine, Animal Shelter Desperate for Pet Food as Supplies Run Low
If there's one thing you shouldn't question about the majority of people in Maine, it's their love for furry companions. The Pine Tree State is filled with pet owners, often glowing with pride over their cats, dogs, and other homebound pals.
But Maine has also become a place where pets without homes can survive until that right person or family comes along to change their life. Shelters across the state of Maine operate with care and compassion.
That's why a photo shared by the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society in Lewiston has already inspired so much response. The humane society shared a photo of their pantry shelves, which were nearly bare of supplies.
The Greater Androscoggin Humane Society has sent out the call for help to restock that pantry as soon as possible. They're specifically asking for cat food and litter, noting that the generosity would go a long way in improving the lives of the cats currently at the shelter, and some who might find themselves there in the not-too-distant future.
If you want to drop off donations, you can visit the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society at 55 Strawberry Avenue in Lewiston. If you don't have physical donations, you can donate monetarily through this secure portal. Money donations can help with food, plus any potential medical care that shelter animals may need.
People of Maine, you know what to do. Let's fill those pantry shelves.
