More Summer Weather is Expected in New England Well Into September

Labor Day Weekend may have come and gone, marking the unofficial end of summer, but that doesn't mean that's the end of summer weather. In Northern New England, we’ve been lucky to experience beautiful, mild days well into September over the last few years, with even a beach day or two in October! This year seems to be following that trend. You may be safe to put the AC away for the year, but don't pack up the beach geer quite yet.

We won’t be dealing with those sweaty, high-humidity days where your AC is running non-stop. Instead, according to AccuWeather, we can expect daytime temps to hit the sweet spot, cruising into the 70s. Perfect for a late summer beach day or just hangin' outside.

As far as the daily lows, or as I like to call them, sleeping temps, Accuweather predicts that we can expect those crisp, cool nights. Lows are expected to be around 50 degrees, which means if you’re like me and love sleeping with the windows open, you're in for some prime sleeping weather.

All of this said, these are predictions, not guarantees, but those sunny 70+ degree days could stretch all the way to the third week of September. And at the time of writing this article, News Center Maine is teasing that we might even see the temps rise to 80 degrees again next week. So, while the calendar says pumpkin spice and hoodies, summer weather might just be saying, not so fast.

After the summer of 2023, I think most of us are saying, take your time.
