As the winter season in Maine arrives, so do all the wonderful activities that feel like the season, from gingerbread houses to tree lightings and all the other fun things that line up after the snow falls.

But when it comes to family-friendly activities in the evening, choices can be limited in coldest season. But if you're willing to bundle up and venture outside, there's an illuminated outdoor walk in Lebanon, Maine, that puts the focus on holiday cheer and imagination.

It's called NYTE Walk. They just wrapped up a wildly successful fall season with a night walk that was anything but scary. Now, they've flipped the script to center on holiday cheer, with a dazzling array of lights that can't be missed.

Similar to the fall version, the Wynter Walk covers more than a quarter mile of trails and features different themes built from LED lights, black lights, flood lights, and more. A carefully-curated, holiday-themed soundtrack also keeps the walk fun and engrossing.

As you progress through the trails, you'll come across different landscapes engulfed in rich colors. Spotted along the trail will be different structures, included small elf houses and fairy dwellings that are fully decorated ufor the holidays.

The Wynter NYTE Walk is entirely outside. Given the ever-unpredictable weather throughout New England, you're advised to dress warmly as you saunter through the amazing trails. The Wynter NYTE walk is open through rain, show, or shine. If you're bringing a stroller, you're encouraged to bring one that can capably wheel through rough terrain.

NYTE Walk is held at 43 Prospect Hill Road in Lebanon, Maine.
