So many fairs and so little time.  Cheers to New Hampshire, Maine and Massachusetts Fairs, now in full swing.

The Granite State, and Deerfield Fairs just closed, the Fryeburg Fair is still going on and the Topsfield Fair is just beginning.

The biggest fair in the region is the Big E in western Massachusetts, this year breaking previous attendance records.  Everyone loves a great fair.

Which leads me to the next question. What happens to all the items lost on the fairgrounds?

According to MassLive, thousands of articles are lost each year, especially at the Big E which typically has the largest attendance in New England.  The misplaced items likely won't be missed until the fair-goers are in their car or at home.

Backtracking helps figure out where you may have lost an item, but chances are pretty good you lost it at the fair.

What are the top items that go missing at the fair?  Many are exactly what you expect, but other items are just weird.

The most lost item is a credit card.  People can be flustered in trying to hurry to pay for goods, and unknowingly drop the card, or put it in a pocket where it can fall out.

If you lost a credit card at the fair, those are shredded, so just cancel the card and order a new one.

If you lose an ID, it's mailed back to you.

Eyeglasses, prescription or readers, there's a wall of them, so claim yours anytime.

Lost cellphones are quite a problem, so check the lost and found before you buy a new phone which could cost you big bucks.

Oh, those small earbuds are so easy to lose.  Sometimes the clean-up crew finds the AirPods in the cases, and sometimes the cases are empty, nevertheless, they are an expensive item in the lost and found.

Wallets and keys are two other losers when talking about articles people misplace.  If you lost your keys to your car, the chances are quite good they are in the lost and found pile, which is quite extensive.

Baby bottles, kids shoes, dentures, invisilines, backpacks, jewelry, fair prizes, stuffed animals, purchases at the fair booths, canes, watches, sobriety coins, jackets, pills, and more backpacks.

If you lost something at a local fair, call them because there's a good shot you will find what prized possession you lost.

If you were at the Big E, contact the Lost and Found Center, they can be reached at 413-205-5164.  As for the other fairs, just call the main office for information.
