"What's your favorite scary movie?"

This question always brings me back to the scene from the first Scream movie with Neve Campbell talking on the on the phone with her (future) killer.

She responds to the question with, "What's the point? They're all the same!" Oh, how wrong you are young Neve Campbell, oh how wrong you are.

I remember seeing that movie in the theater when it first came out. I think enough time has passed that I can reveal that it was the first R-rated movie that I snuck into.

I bought a ticket for Spy Kids or some other light-hearted movie that was out at that time. 14-year-old Kira snuck into that theater feeling like a common criminal. I was convinced a movie theater attendant was going to sniff me out, figure out how old I was, and toss me right out of that theater. It turns out nobody cared that I was there. T

he only punishment I got was not sleeping for a week after watching it because I am such a wimp.

Yes, all the Scream movies terrified me back in the day, but I didn't know how scary horror movies could actually be! Over the past few decades, scary movies have evolved with special effects and CGI. They are more lifelike than ever. I now have the self-awareness to know that I just can't handle them!

But some people, especially during the spooky season, live for scary movies. They think it's festive and fun to jump out of their skin in fear and god love 'em!

If you are a scary movie connoisseur, you will love what this Massachusetts Drive-In is doing. (side note: I love a drive-in, where is the closest one to Hampton, NH? Please advise!)

Apparently, the Mendon Twin Drive-In is gearing to host their 3rd annual horror movie marathon on October 19th.

Anyone who lasts all night gets their name on the “Horror Cup” plus free breakfast and a free pass for a future movie.

I have so many questions! How do you prove you stayed up all night? Is it just by the honor system? How many hours are we talking here?  8pm to 5am?

They have been bread crumbing what the lineup will be on their social media. They will be kicking off the festivities with Smile 2, and they asked their followers for feedback on if the second movie should be Terrifier 3. People seem to be in support of that! The rest of the movies will be retro classics (so I'm thinking Child's Play, Halloween, the Exorcist, etc.)

Do you think you could survive this horror movie marathon? What movies do you think should definitely be on the lineup?
