This Iconic Spot Was Named the Most Beautiful Place in New Hampshire

Hikers and outdoor enthusiasts know this, but others might not.  The majestic White Mountains of New Hampshire are part of the northern Appalachian Mountain Range.

Why is that important?

Some of the highest mountains of the Appalachian Range are in the Northeast.

According to Britannica.com,

The highest elevations in the Appalachians are in the northern division, with Maine’s Mount Katahdin (5,268 feet), New Hampshire’s Mount Washingtonm(6,288 feet), and other pinnacles in the White Mountains rising above 5,000 feet, and in the southern region, where peaks of the North Carolina Black Mountains and the Tennessee–North Carolina Great Smoky Mountains rise above 6,000 feet and the entire system reaches its highest summit, on Mount Mitchell(6,684 feet ).

The Appalachian Mountain Range is to the east, while the Rocky Mountains are to the west.

When cntraveler.com did a gallery of the most beautiful places in each state, the 800,000 acres of the New Hampshire Washington Mountains definitely rang the bell.  There are so many incredible photo ops and places to walk, hike, visit, and enjoy.  The scenery is stunning, with waterways, rocks, and trails at every glance, and heritage hotels and resorts to enjoy any season.

The stunning colors in the fall, the soft white snow in the winter, and valleys of wildflowers and lavender in the spring and summer make the White Mountains the most beautiful place in the Granite State.
