Women's sports are having a moment.

Viewership and support of various professional and collegiate women's sports have been on the rise for the last few years.

The world watched Caitlin Clark (former Iowa women's basketball star and now a professional player), generate more viewership in a women's collegiate game than championship games for the NHL, NBA, and other professional men's sports.

As a sports fan, I am all on board. The rise of women's sports hit hockey fans with the creation of the PWHL (Professional Women's Hockey League) in August of 2023.

There were and are six teams that make up the league: Boston, Minnesota, Ottowa, Montreal, Toronto, and New York.

In the most recent game for the PWHL Boston team, a mid-game proposal turned into a double proposal.

During a period of intermission at a sold-out game at the University of Massachusetts Lowell's Tsongas Center, a few couples were selected to try and score on an empty net from mid-ice.

And this is where the magic happened. As one woman celebrated her shot, the other (her girlfriend) dropped down to a knee, pulled out the box, and presented an engagement ring.

This beautiful moment got a quick shake-up as the proposed, too, became the proposer. Does that make sense?

Not sure.

What I am saying is BOTH WOMEN HAD A RING. BOTH WOMEN WERE PLANNING ON PROPOSING.

A double proposal, if you will!

The double proposal was a success, as Gaby and Nicole both said YES!

In addition to the successful love story, PWHL Boston clinched their first playoff spot in the Saturday game after a 4-3 victory over PWHL Montréal, according to an advocate article.
