Survivor of Head-On Collision in Tilton, New Hampshire, in Search of His Guardian Angel
Driving a car is so engrained in our everyday life that we often forget how dangerous it can be. Everything can change in a matter of seconds.
A man named Andrew Hannaford took to the Franklin/Tilton/Northfield What's going on?Facebook group to share a real-life horror story that happened to him a few weeks ago while behind the wheel. And to make matters worse, his one-year-old daughter was in the car.
On June 4, 2024, Andrew's car was involved in a head-on collision in Tilton, New Hampshire.
He was notified that a nurse had pulled over and held, comforted, and cared for his daughter until the ambulance got there. He had no idea of her name, where she was from, or anything about her. He posted in the group in hopes that someone who knows her could relay how eternally grateful his family is for her and her kindness. It truly brought tears to their eyes to know there are such selfless and good people in this world who stepped in and cared for the daughter when they weren’t able to.
The post was shared on the U Local New Hampshire Facebook page, which has a massive following. At the time of this writing, the guardian angel has not come forward, but someone else who helped out did chime in in the comments.
Her name is Maureen. She was heading home from the hospital after her shift as an emergency services/mobile crisis mental health clinician. She pulled over immediately upon seeing the accident. Andrew and his daughter were being treated by EMTs, and Maureen spoke to Andrew's mom, helped keep her calm, and filled her in on what was going on. She was rightfully panic-stricken and worried beyond measure.
Andrew and his daughter are recovering but doing well, all things considered.
Commenters are praising the fact that Andrew was driving a Subaru Outback, arguably one of the safest cars on the market. People also wanted to know what car seat he had for his daughter, because that thing was clearly doing its job!
