Rock Icon Joe Perry May Have Just Sold His Duxbury Estate for Millions
The town of Duxbury is saying goodbye to Aerosmith’s Joe Perry only to potentially welcome a new high-profile neighbor.
Perry’s sprawling 7-acre estate went up for sale in September of last year and has recently been taken off the market.
Janet Koelsch of Coldwell Banker Realty confirmed the new buyers have not signed on the dotted line just yet, but within the next month or so, Perry is out and a new family is in.
A phone call to Duxbury Town Hall referred Fun 107 to the realtors who listed the home, Janet and Bert Koelsch of Coldwell Banker Realty-Scituate.
“The buyers haven’t closed yet, it is still pending agreement,” Janet Koelsch said.
And as far as who the buyer is, Koelsch remained tight-lipped.
The estate is no ordinary home, which leads me to believe this new buyer is another high-profile person.
“Once you’re behind those gates, it’s almost like you’re in paradise,” said Koelsch. “It’s so one-on-one with nature, you think you’re in another world.”
Koelsch also mentioned that the level of privacy is like no other.
The perfect spot for a celebrity trying to hide away, perhaps?
“Or perfect for a family looking for a little privacy,” Koelsch added.
Koelsch may have a point, but the price tag of the estate has me guessing the former.
Back in September, Perry’s “humble” abode was listed for $4.5 million. As a founding member and lead guitarist for the iconic band Aerosmith, Perry added his rock 'n’ roll flair to the estate, including the guitar-shaped pool and a stair railing made of guitar necks. If I were to guess, whoever is in the process of buying this home is most likely a fan of rock 'n’ roll, or a musician themselves.
Koelsch informed me that within a month or so, the identity of the buyer will be made public, but until then, I’ll continue speculating on who is going to be the newest Duxbury resident.
