Limestone, Maine Police Officer’s Body Cam Captures Explosion While Firefighters Battle Fire
A scary situation was caught on a camera when the Limetstone, Maine Fire Department was fighting a fire in a wooded area and a propane tank suddenly exploded.
According to our sister station, Q96.1 in Presque Isle, firefighter Scott Patten was injured and taken to a nearby hospital conscious and alert.
A few days later, Limestone Chief of Police Stacey Mahan posted video captured from his body camera of the explosion on the police department's Facebook page. You can see Patten knocked to his feet from the blast. Mahan and another fire fighter rush to him after the blast and help him to his feet as everyone rushes to safety.
The video shows how things can change in seconds. Our Maine firefighters, many volunteers, put their lives at risk on a regular basis to keep us safe.
