The Captain and Celeste rang up Jason Bonham this morning. Jason is on his way to Maine for a show Friday night with Whitesnake and Foreigner at Darling's Waterfront Pavilion in Bangor. Jason, who is, of course, the son of the late great John "Bonzo" Bonham of Led Zeppelin has had a great career playing drums with zillions of amazing artists, all the while keeping the legacy of his father and Zeppelin alive with the Jason Bonham Led Zeppelin Evening. Oh, and he's played drums for TWO different Led Zeppelin reunions!

Check out the full interview below. There were four things in the interview that blew our minds:

  • That Jason has different ring tones for each member of Led Zeppelin! Listen to the interview for who gets what song...
  • How hard it was to "let go" waiting for the phone to ring for a Zep reunion.
  • That he once told his dad that Stewart Copeland of The Police was a better drummer than him.
  • That Jason has strong ties to Maine. He used to bring his kids up here for camp!

There are a bunch of other great tidbits that you Zeppelin freaks will love. Dig in and we will see you at the show in Bangor on Friday night!

Here's the performance The Captain, Celeste, and Jason were referring to in the interview. Funky indeed!
