Live Version of Popular National Show Coming to Waterville, Maine, Opera House
Honestly, we're pretty lucky in Maine when it comes to entertainment.
Maine Entertainment Venues
From the State Theatre, AURA, Merrill Auditorium, and the Cross Insurance Arena all basically within a mile from each other in Portland (hell, AURA and the Arena are right next door to each other), to The Strand Theatre in Rockland and Maine State Music Theatre in Brunswick -- we're stacked.
And honestly, that was barely even naming a few.
But come this April, an incarnation of a popular national TV show that was just renewed for its 20th and final season will be hitting the stage live at the Waterville Opera House.
Whose Line Is It Anyway?
There have been a few different versions of the all-improv show, Whose Line Is It Anyway? The show first started on ABC back in 1998 and was hosted by Drew Carey (who later went on to become the host of the iconic game show The Price Is Right, where he remains today.)
That version of Whose Line, according to Entertainment Weekly, lasted until 2004, switching over to ABC Family from 2005 to 2007. After a six-year break, Whose Line was rebooted and moved to The CW on Friday nights, where it still airs today and will air for its final season later this year, which is currently being shot as we speak, according to one of the regular players, Colin Mochrie.
Whose Live Anyway?
If improv is your thing and you've always been a fan of Whose Line (and some of its mainstays), then you'll love what's hitting the Waterville Opera House on Wednesday, April 19.
While the full, regular cast of comedians on Whose Line won't be in attendance, one of the OG mainstays, Ryan Stiles, will be part of the show, as well as one of the former hosts, Greg Proops, and former guest players Joel Murray and Jeff B. Davis.
