Looking For Spectacular Fireworks Shows? Here’s Where to See Them in Maine

It's pretty safe to say that last year, we were robbed of an all-out 4th of July celebration. The pandemic was still running wild without us having as much knowledge about it as we do now, we had no vaccine yet so we were still basically ordered to be under lock and key quarantined at home -- it was just the opposite of what we're used to in Vacationland.

That said, that was then and this is now, and now we're in a MUCH better stance during this pandemic than we were at this time last year. This means we're actually going to be able to gather, grill out with friends and families, and finally...FINALLY...see a 4th of July Fireworks show!

With that in mind, here's a list of all of the public* fireworks shows we know about as of this writing happening in Maine during 4th of July weekend, according to the Maine Fire Marshal's Office. Apologies for these not being in alphabetical order.

*The Maine Fire Marshal has the following displays listed as public, so blame them if random people show up to your house, not us.

Sanford: July 3 at 9p at 17 Acorn St (corner of Acorn and Riverside), with a rain date of July 5.

Ashland: July 2 at 9p on Sheridan Rd in the field along Dug Brook at Ashland Fish and Game, with a rain date of July 3.

Boothbay Harbor (Windjammers): June 30 at 9p on floats in the Harbor (69 Atlantic Ave), with a rain date of July 1.

Boothbay Harbor: July 4 at 9p on floats in the Harbor (69 Atlantic Ave), with a rain date of July 5.

Smithfield: July 4 at 9p on rafts of East Lake at Camp Matoaka, with a rain date of July 5.

Fayette: July 4 at 9p on the docks attached to the beach area of Camp Vega, with a rain date of July 5.

Damariscotta: July 4 at 9p on Water Street and Norris Point, with a rain date of July 5.

Stonington: July 4 at 9:15p on moored floats in Stonington Harbor, with a rain date of July 5.

Eastport: July 4 at 9p at Eastport Fish Pier (49 Water St), with a rain date of July 5.

Naples: July 4 at 9:15p on rafts on Sebago Lake, with a rain date of July 5.

Frye Island: July 3 at 9:15p at Long Beach Marina on beach area, with a rain date of July 5.

Fryeburg: July 2 at 9p on the infield of the Harness Racing Track at the end of the paddock area, with a rain date of July 3.

Saco: July 3 at 9:30p at Funtown Splashtown USA (774 Portland Rd), with a rain date of July 5.

Jackman: July 4 at 9p in the field behind the Town Office (369 US 201), with a rain date of July 5.

Mapleton: June 25 at 9p behind Mapleton Elementary School (1642 Main St) next to the potato field, with a rain date of June 26.

Monmouth: July 3 at 9:30p at Town Swim Beach (12 Beach St), with a rain date of July 10.

Casco (1 of 2): June 28 at 9:26p on rafts on Sebago Lake, with no rain date listed.

Casco (2 of 2): July 5 at 9:26p on rafts on Sebago Lake, with no rain date listed.

Portland (1 of 2): June 25 at 9p following the Portland Sea Dogs vs Somerset Patriots game behind Hadlock Field, with no rain date listed.
