The Pine Tree State’s crown jewel was recently named one of America’s best national parks by AllTrails, earning an impressive 9th-place ranking out of all 63 national parks across the country. That’s some elite company for one of Maine’s most beloved outdoor escapes.

This isn’t just any ranking — it’s based entirely on user reviews. So basically, there are a lot of smart people out there who truly understand just how special Acadia National Park really is.

What Makes Acadia National Park so Special?

It’s no surprise to see Acadia National Park ranked so highly — it’s a stunning destination. The park offers a wide range of activities that are ideal during any time of year, including camping, sightseeing, birding, horseback riding, kayaking, and some of the best mountain hiking around.

What are the Highest Rated National Parks on AllTrails?

While Acadia finished as the 9th-best national park, the top spot went to Bryce Canyon National Park, followed by Zion National Park and Mount Rainier National Park rounding out the top three.
