WMTW reports that the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention has recorded the first vape related lung illness in Maine.

Vape pens, or E-cigarettes, are electric devices that heat liquid containing nicotine or cannabis products which are then inhaled. Symptoms of illness have included: shortness of breath, chest pain, nausea, abdominal pain, fever, vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue and cough. If you vape and you've had any of these symptoms, call your doctor right away.

According Eco Watch, the FDA has reported 530 lung-related illnesses and 8 deaths involving 150 different vaping brands since July. Research is on to determine what could be causing the illnesses. The number of cases are growing quickly and the FDA is now only reporting probable and confirmed cases, and not those merely being investigated. They are also looking at other lung illnesses that go further back, they suspect are related to vaping as well.

As of this week there have been 530 cases reported, that's up from 380 cases last week.
