A Maine family that has a passion for sightseeing and adventures, has their own YouTube channel that highlights their trips, and their latest is a must for anyone who loves bridges! "The Maine Mouse" took the trip and walking tour of the observatory, and captured some pretty great footage!

The Penobscot Bridge, and Penobscot Narrows Observatory, is one of the coolest experiences you can have in the state of Maine. It is the first bridge observation tower in the United States and the tallest public bridge observatory in the entire world. The tower reaches 420 feet into the air and allows visitors to view the bridge, the nearby Fort Knox State Historic Site, the Penobscot River, and Bay, with spectacular, mind blowing 360 degree views. In fact, believe it or not, it is taller than the Statue of Liberty!

The Penobscot Narrows Observatory opened to the general public way back on May 19, 2007. It is open for visitors from May 1 to October 31st of each year.

As you can imagine, lots of videos have been posted over the years, and this HoverFlow clip in particular, from May of 2016, is absolutely stunning.

Now that summer is almost here, and after a very long year of mask wearing and isolation, it is the perfect time to get friends, and family together to enjoy this unique landmark. You can really make a day of it, because they have picnic tables and grills, and also, a covered pavilion for hosting family reunions, small weddings and other special events.
