Look, I'm a born and raised Mainer. That's 30 years. I appreciate Fluff, although I can say that I am not sure the last time I purchased a container myself. One thing's for sure, no Maine kid can forget the sticky feeling of Wonderbread, peanut butter, and Fluff coating the roof of their mouth. You better have a giant glass of milk handy.

According to the Marshmallow Fluff website, Fluff dates back as far as 1917 when it was sold door to door in Somerville, Massachusetts. The recipe was then sold for $500 to H. Allen Durkee and Fred L. Mower. In 1920 a three-gallon can was sold to a lodge in New Hampshire and is said to be the first documented sale.

Well, the Fluff fandom in Maine is real. So real, in fact, that one Maine retailer, Brewer IGA, is offering a 4-pound container. And they're not offering it because it's an absolute riot to see a container of Fluff that big. They have it because customers were begging for it! In fact, at the time of posting there were only 5 cases left on the shelf!

And hey, $10 for that much Fluff really isn't bad! Think of all the sandwiches!
