Maine’s Stunning Fall Colors Are Almost Gone for Another Year
The days are shortening and the colors are fading. Oh, how time sadly flies.
We’re wrapping up the 2026 fall foliage season, and let’s be honest, it’s always a bit of a bummer. It’s just never long enough.

When Does the Maine Fall Foliage Season End?
The foliage season has cruised by, with reports dropping weekly. According to Maine.gov, we’ve already passed peak season in the majority of the state, with peak foliage typically arriving around the end of October in Southern Maine.

While it’s sad to see the season coming to an end, we can at least look back at what was a very solid foliage year. Those comfortable daytime temperatures were certainly a big bonus for everyone out enjoying the colors. I mean, who didn’t love a little apple cider and beautiful foliage while basking in 70-degree temperatures?
