Maine In Top 10 of States Seeing Highest Job Resignations In Past Month
A recent report from WalletHub.com, shares what states are seeing of the 'great resignation' trend happening in the United States since the start of the pandemic.
The top 10 states with the Highest Job Resignation Rates includes the Pine Tree State and some of our neighborly New England states:
- Alaska
- Wyoming
- Georgia
- Kentucky
- Montana
- North Dakota
- New Hampshire
- Vermont
- North Carolina
- Maine
In the last month, Alaska has seen the largest resignation in the United States rate of 5.2% in the last month. Combining this rate with a resignation rate of 3.80% from the past 12 months, Alaska ranks as the highest rate overall in the United States. Maine, though a higher rate in the past month, has a relatively mid-range resignation rate of 2.62% through the past year. But, combining this with the latest month's resignation rate, WalletHub ranked Maine among the top 10 states with the Highest Job Resignation Rates.
The five states seeing the least of the great resignation in the past month and past 12 months include New York in last place, followed by District of Columbia, Pennsylvania, Washington, and Massachusetts. Yes, the other Northern New England state not mentioned in the top 10 of 'Highest Job Resignation Rates' is actually pretty close to the end of the list.
USA Today reports about 5 million resignations since the start of the pandemic with November reporting the highest resignations of any month since the start of the pandemic, around 4.5 million. December's resignation numbers weren't available at the time of this story.
