We’re lucky to live in a state that’s known for having such an incredible food scene.

And while Portland definitely gets a lot of the spotlight (for good reason—it’s one of the top foodie cities in the country), the great eats don’t stop at the city limits. All across the state, you’ll find amazing restaurants, bars, and cafes that are just as worth checking out.

This includes takeout, too.

Maine is Loaded with Great Restaurants, Many That Offer Takeout

Takeout might just be the greatest invention since the written word. Nothing beats the convenience—especially these days, when it feels like no one has time to do anything. It’s an absolute blessing.

And let me tell you, the takeout scene in Maine has improved dramatically.

If there’s one silver lining from the pandemic, it’s definitely the rise in takeout quality. Restaurants had to rethink everything just to stay afloat, and that meant diving headfirst into the takeout game.

And that’s exactly what happened. Tons of restaurants started offering takeout, which naturally raised the bar. The more places that joined in, the more competitive it got—which turned out to be great news for customers.
