According to WGME, Maine's Community Colleges are giving Maine's graduating class of 2019-2020 the best graduation gift ever; two free online summer classes.

The class of 2020 has had a disappointing graduation year and as they prepare for college, which might be online their freshman year, this is a great opportunity for them to acclimate to what college and university might be like. Aside from getting two college credit classes under their belts, they are also saving money. The serious kind. Students will save between $2,000 and $7,000 on tuition thanks to Maine's Community College System.

We are very lucky to have a strong Community College System here in Maine, they support the ongoing education of many of our graduates. According to WGME's article, approximately 8,000 of Maine's 13,000 graduating seniors this year have plans to go to college in the fall. MCCS offers approximately 300 certificate and degree choices.

Start dates vary for the classes; but check it out, this summer you could slay public speaking, get Calculus 1 out of the way, explore history, digital photography or knock off your English class. Earth lover? Dig into Marine Biology and Environmental Science.
