It's wonderful to see that this beloved Christmastime tradition will be happening. Our friends at the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad in Portland will get the 2020 'Holiday Express' steamin' down the track on Friday November 27, the day after Thanksgiving.

Tis the season for one of the most popular events around. It has been for many, many years too. My wife Sherry and I remember bringing our sons (who are now 21 and 27) when they were little shavahs.

The whole experience is so magical. It's not everyday you get to take the family back in time to Christmas past in coaches pulled by a real old timey locomotive.

There's a Conductor to welcome the family aboard and Christmas music playing to really give the feeling of what it would be like to ride a train to the North Pole, just like that movie we know and love.

When the train reaches its destination  you'll see the main attraction. Santa Claus. According to the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad Facebook page, "food and drink will not be served aboard the train this year." There is however a place across the street with holiday treats and something warm to drink if you like.

It's all aboard for the 'Holiday Express'. Opening weekend is November 27 through November 29. Train rides will be going on each weekend leading up to Christmas and also include December 21 through December 23.
We're thinking people will really need this very special holiday family fun to lift our spirits as this challenging time continues. So it's important to remember that this fantastic event has a history of selling out quickly over the years. Tickets are available now, but going fast.
