Many streets in downtown Portland will be closed on Tuesday, April 9th for the memorial service of Maine State Police Detective Benjamin Campbell. Campbell was killed on I-95 in Hampden when he was hit by a truck wheel, according to the Portland Press Herald. The streets will be shut down from 8:30 a.m. until approximately 3 p.m.

Thousands of people are expected to attend the memorial service at the Cross Insurance Arena, according to a press release from the City of Portland.

Streets around the Cross Insurance Arena will be closed to vehicles. Street closures include:
Spring Street from High Street to Temple Street.
Oak Street from Free Street to Spring Street.
Center Street from Free to Commercial Street.
Cross Street from Free to Spring Street.
Cotton Street.
Free Street will be closed from High Street to Temple for 30 minutes from 10:30 - 11:00 a.m.
High Street and Commercial Street may also be briefly closed or impacted throughout the day.
