
March 2016 Was the 5th Warmest March Ever in Portland
Our friends at the National Weather Service in Gray have compiled an amazing array of facts and figures for your weather wonderment Our trend for warmer than usual months continued. March 2016 was the 5th warmest on record. This is the 8th consecutive month of above-average temperatures. The last below-normal month was June of last year.
FOR MARCH 2016:
- The average temperature for the month was 37.8 degrees. That's 4.3 degrees above normal.
- Not a lot of snow in Portland in March. Only 7.1 inches. That's 5.6 inches below normal. By the way, the snowiest March ever was in 1993 when we had 49 inches.
- Crazy weather swings continue this winter. On the 21st we had over 6 inches of snow. By the 31st it was 72 degrees. Wacky!
