My Ladies’ Night At Maine Hardware. [PHOTO GALLERY]
I don't think this is how they do Ladies' Night in Santa Monica. Maine Hardware in Portland's Union Station Plaza throws a fabulous holiday shopping party for their female customers, I had to check it out. You think hardware stores are just for the guys? Guess again. Women are on the home improvement band wagon, not just riding shotgun either. Loved this poster...
The women in my life, and myself, LOVE hardware stores. That was evident by the turnout number one, and if you think the girls were just there for a glass of wine you would be wrong. The checkout line doesn't lie...
The staff was friendly and the gents working there seemed to take it in stride as ladies' pushed past each other to get to what they were looking for. It was crowded for sure, but delicious treats from Sur Lie were plentiful.
Maine crafted wines from Cellar Door Winery at Thompson's Point kept the cheer flowing. Both businesses added an extra touch of class to the event.
Satisfied, shoppers pulled the trigger on that mini plunger for the kitchen sink!
Maybe sanding, painting and regrouting have left your holiday hands looking like you worked a farm in the 1800's. Maine Hardware had a fix for that too, manicures!
There was a popcorn machine and even a photo booth complete with props that you could only find in a hardware store. I took some pictures, but my sister code prevents me from publishing pictures of other women wearing hard hats and brandishing plungers. Here are the props. You get the picture, even though I didn't publish one...
BTW, the line was huge for the photo booth! Another popular spot was the Arbonne table where we moisturized our chapped hands with heavenly smelling products.
It was time to move on and make room for a new rush of ladies coming in to enjoy Ladies' Night at Maine Hardware. Let the pampering continue! We headed next door to Margarita's where I enjoyed an Aztec Shrimp Quesadilla and some kind of delicious coconut margarita with fresh lime juice-YUM!
Our server Danielle was a doll and took this picture for us. We truly had an amazing and memorable time together. Share your favorite Ladies' Night story with us on our Facebook Fan Page.
