Mainers flocked to grocery and liquor stores yesterday to get food and booze to sustain them through a snowstorm and a Patriots game.

My day Saturday was crazy so I didn't get to my local Shaw's until 9:15 last night. The snow was starting to fall and there were only 4 or 5 other last minute shoppers in the store. It took me about 15 minutes to fill up my cart half way with what I thought we would need for a comfortable Sunday, (and Monday for the kids).

Here are some of my must-haves:

  • Wine. lots of wine.
  • A new flashlight for every night stand just in case we lose power.
  • A new scented candle because it feels cozy.
  • Toilet paper
  • Enough food to sustain us for a month! Groceries to make french toast, baked ziti, cookies, salads, roasted vegetables and trays of nosh.

I also did a Target run to buy curtain rods and various other things to pull the house together- if I find the time before the game starts. Why do I always think that I'm going to get a project done when we have a snowstorm?
