For the last few months, the New England Aquarium has only been able to offer virtual programming during the COVID-19 pandemic. The aquarium was closed for a lot longer than they thought they would be, as most places were. Now, the aquarium is finally opening its doors on July 16th, 2020, according to the its Facebook page.

As expected, the New England Aquarium has put many safety protocols into effect. The capacity will be limited to a certain amount of people so that everyone can maintain the proper social distance of six feet, and facial coverings or masks are required at all times, according to the video below. The aquarium will use "timed ticketing," which means you will have to reserve a specific time before you go. One way directional signs will also be set up throughout the place. Watch the video to learn about the other changes that have been made. Get tickets here.

The aquarium's hours are Monday through Friday and weekends from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The attraction is located at 1 Central Wharf in Boston, Massachusetts.
