New Latin American Cocktail Bar Opens in Portland, Maine, This Friday
The exciting thing about living in the Greater Portland area is that it seems like new spots open up around town over night every night.
Whether it’s a new boutique, cocktail bar, or brewery, there is always something new to explore.
The only thing that’s tough about this is that the local businesses need to make sure they differ from the others. With so many spots to choose from, there needs to be something special that gets people through your doors.
A new cocktail bar opening up this week is bringing its own unique flavor to the city.
Cabana Portland, Maine
A new Latin American cocktail bar and restaurant will be opening their doors this very Friday on August 26 in the spot where Piccolo used to be. Portland Food Map posted on Instagram about the new spot sharing that it will feature a small plate menu with things like ceviche, Cubano sliders, seasonal tostones plate, and other cuisine inspired by Latin America with a special emphasis on Dominican Cuisine.
Cabana is bringing a unique taste to the city and won’t blend in with the other oversaturated spots slinging classics like specialty chicken sandwiches and burgers, but rather this new place will add to the culture of our constantly growing city.
My friend is tempted by the ceviche but I am personally itching to tap my toes to the Afro, Samba, and Latin music.
The owner, René Emilio Peña, is from Miami which warms my heart after having just lived there myself a few years. I definitely trust him to be serving the best ceviche in town.
