No Reason Given for Closure of Falmouth’s Bueno Loco on Route One
There was a warning, but no reason.
Bueno Loco posted on their Facebook page on September 21, a pretty simple and to-the-point message:
Dear Friends & Customers,
We will be closing our doors at the end of the month; our last day will be Friday September 30th.
A new restaurant tenant will be coming into this space, which we think will make a great addition to the Falmouth community.
Thank you for your support & patronage, it was a magical ride.
Onward & upward,
Bueno Loco
They said that another restaurant was coming, but no word on what that might be and more importantly no word on why Bueno Loco decided to hang it up. People were still pulling up surprised to see a note on the door that was the same message as their Facebook page.
The place was bright and big and had all the Mexican restaurant favorites like tacos, fajitas, burritos, and a mean margarita. Plus they had live music and open mic nights. A new owner took over right before the pandemic shut the world down. So that timing may have played a big role in why they decided to close. A lot is going on food-wise on the 'miracle mile' stretch of Route One in Falmouth. The new Sicilian Table is now open and a new place is coming soon to the old Bueno Loco.
My parents owned a restaurant with no pandemic worries and they had a hell of a time. Even back decades ago, finding help was a challenge. Anyone who runs a restaurant these days is brave and I wish you all the best of luck in the world!
