With spring only a week away, the days are getting longer, the temperatures are getting warmer and ice cream shops are getting ready to open up for the season, including one of the most popular spots for ice cream in the Oxford Hills, Norway Soft Serve.

Originally located in Norway, several years ago Norway Soft Serve moved to South Paris occupying the former Grand Trunk railroad station that was built in 1883.

It served passengers along the line from Portland to Montreal until it closed to passenger service in 1965 becoming the Grand Trunk freight office. As local freight customers declined, the building was sold and it is now occupied by Norway Soft Serve.
