Yesterday was another snow day for some Maine students and according to WGME,  RSU 56 is extending their school days by one hour a day until they make up the time.

Parents of students from Carthage, Dixfield, Peru and Canton recently received a letter letting them in on the plan that is an effort to make up five snow days. The kids will go to school for an extra hour every day through the end of March.

According to the Bangor Daily News, students in District 28 will be doing school work on snow days instead of having snowball fights and building snowmen. Students will need to complete work online or complete take-home projects. Mom and Dad sometimes work from home and now the kids can too.

Remote school days for students in the Camden Hills area is in its pilot year. "Blizzard Bags" are provided for students that contain assignment projects designed to provide meaningful learning. Projects have a due date and teachers hold "office hours" from 10 to 4 to help kids who need it during the snow day work.
