Dear Driver With Your Lights Off When Your Windshield Wipers Are On...

You are starting to piss me off.

I know. Your forget. That's why I flash my lights on and off at you. No, I don't know you and I'm not saying hi. I'm saying, hey - TURN YOUR DAMN LIGHTS ON!  Honestly, I would say 50% of cars this week had their lights off in a foggy, light rain. It's starting to upset me!

It's not that hard. If you put your windshield wipers on for any other reason than to clean your window, turn your lights on. Period. End of sentence. No argument, no excuses. You are hard to see when you don't have your lights on.

Plus - it's the friggin' law! Title 29-A: MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC. Chapter 19: OPERATION

Subchapter 1: RULES OF THE ROAD

§2067. Lights

1.  Display of headlights.  A vehicle located on a way must be equipped with headlights as described in section 1904. The headlights must be illuminated:
A. During the period from sunset to sunrise;   [PL 2015, c. 51, §1 (AMD).]
B. At any time when, due to insufficient light or unfavorable atmospheric conditions, including, but not limited to, rain, freezing rain, fog or snow, persons or vehicles on the way are not discernible for a distance of 1,000 feet ahead; and   [PL 1997, c. 249, §1 (NEW).]
C. At any time when windshield wipers are in constant use.   [PL 1997, c. 249, §1 (NEW).]
This subsection does not apply to a vehicle that is parked or standing off the main traveled portion of the way.
So, here's the deal. You turn on your headlights when the weather is kinda poopy, and I'll stop popping a vein in my forehead.
Thanks.
