Pease Will Run a Full Scale Emergency Exercise This Saturday!
Head's up! Seacoast Response 2017 is scheduled to take place at Pease this Saturday. This will be a full-on mandatory emergency drill that will involve four seacoast hospitals, Police and Fire Departments from Newington and Portsmouth, New Hampshire State Police, Medical Examiner, New Hampshire Dept. of Health and Human Services, Pease Fire Dept., Rockingham County Sheriff's Dept. and The American Red Cross. If you don't know what's happening while one of these drills is taking place, it can be pretty alarming! Volunteer "victims" will be transported to area hospitals and you can expect to hear a lot of sirens and see a lot of emergency vehicles as well. The Pease Development Authority must conduct a full-scale Airport Emergency Exercise at least once every 3 years.
