Maine’s Portland Jetport Expands with Breeze Airways’ New Flights
There are few things more convenient in this life than living near an airport.
The very thought of driving a significant distance before even starting your flight is, well, awful. Even worse is when you come back from your trip and have to, once again, make that drive back home.
Flying out of Portland International Jetport
This is why having Portland Jetport continue to expand its flights and destinations is a major positive. There's nothing like driving a short distance, parking for relatively cheap, breezing through the always short security line, and walking just 20 feet to the gate. It's honestly an exceptional experience.
Airports can literally drive a person mad, so having this option right here at home is a godsend.
I bring this up, because according to WMTW, the Jetport is once again adding new destinations. Who's ready to visit the capital of Ohio? Columbus is soon to be added to the PWM roster, along with Greenville-Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Breeze Airways Adding New Destinations from Portland Jetport
Breeze Airways has quickly become a consumer favorite in the airline industry. The low-cost, no-frills flights are exactly what people are looking for, especially in a day and age where expenses are out of control.
The carrier has been a great addition to the Portland Jetport since arriving a few years ago. They also continue expanding the destination list, including this recent announcement.
Starting in May, Breeze Airways will offer direct flights from Portland to Columbus, Ohio, operating on Mondays and Fridays. WMTW also reports the airline will provide one-stop, same-plane service to Greenville-Spartanburg, South Carolina, on Thursdays and Sundays. This expansion offers Mainers more convenient travel options from Portland. something everyone is looking to do. Because, who on Earth wants to fly out of Logan? No thanks.
With the addition of these two locations, Breeze now flies direct from Portland to over 10 destinations, including New York, Tampa, Pittsburgh, and Orlando. It should be noted that some of the routes are seasonal.
Breeze Airways is a Great option out of Portland
I actually flew Breeze last year for the first time. It was a direct flight to Raleigh, and it was smooth sailing. From gate to gate, it could not have gone better. Plus, the planes are clean and spacious, with exceptional service. I could not recommend Breeze enough.

I also commend them for giving Mainers so many options out of Portland Jetport. Not only does it make it more convenient, but who doesn't love more money staying in the state?
I look forward to seeing what the future has in store for both the Portland Jetport and Breeze Airlines. Both are doing a superb job in making sure I never have to step foot in Logan again. I guess I'm saying they deserve a Nobel Prize.
