20 Destinations Maine's Portland Jetport Should Fly to Next

The convenience of living near an airport is hard to beat.

Think about it: no long drives to major cities just to catch a flight, no outrageous parking fees, and no expensive shuttle rides. And after a long business trip or vacation, few things are worse than landing only to face several more hours on the road before you finally get home.

How Easy is it to Access the Portland International Jetport?

That's why Portland International Jetport's continued growth is such a huge boost for the region. There's nothing quite like driving a short distance, parking for a reasonable price, breezing through a relatively quiet security line, and walking just a few steps to your gate. It's honestly an exceptional travel experience.

Airports can be stressful enough, so having such a convenient option right here at home is a real luxury.

I bring this up because the Jetport has done an excellent job of expanding its roster of nonstop destinations. This summer alone, Portland added new flights to Los Angeles, Denver, San Francisco, Akron, and Cincinnati.

It's wonderful to see more destinations added, especially ones that are a bit different from the routes we've seen in recent years. But could PWM do even more? With so many airports and destinations out there, there are certainly plenty of cities that could make excellent additions.

What Destinations Should the Portland International Jetport Fly Direct to?

Below is a list of 20 destinations that I think would be perfect candidates for future nonstop service. It's a diverse mix that includes major American cities, Caribbean dream destinations, and even a few international options. After all, PWM is technically an international airport, so maybe it's time we start taking full advantage of that. Heck, I'll start a donation drive to help build the customs facility.
