York's Wild Kingdom is part of the fabric of Maine, and one of their family members has passed. The majestic white Bengal tiger Rewa had been a stunning ambassador for the park for 15 years, and she will be missed by everyone who felt her presence over the years.

The giant cat brought much happiness to families as well as groups from summer camps and schools. My kids visited the Kingdom many times and Rewa was a favorite.

According to WGME, the playful cat succumbed to age recently. A memorial plaque will be placed by her exhibit.

York's Wild Kingdom's zoo will open on June 20th and will be following CDC guidelines for social distancing, however the amusement park will remain closed this season due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

If you can, please make a donation to the park and help to feed the animals and provide for their veterinary care. It's super expensive to take care of all of them and they deserve the best. Your donation will help make up for the financial hit of opening the zoo late and the loss of income from being unable to open the amusement park this season.

Please help to keep York's Wild Kingdom open by donating at yorkzoo.com.
