Donut Lovers, Rejoice: Maine’s Sweetest Food Festival Returns to Rockport
Better weather means many wonderful things return to Maine, and one of the best is the many outdoor food festivals that take the state by storm.
Food festivals are all the rage these days. Well, they kind of have been since the dawn of time. There’s nothing like gathering with friends, family, and even strangers to enjoy each other's company while devouring calories and carbs.
Now, let’s be honest—if there were a Mount Rushmore of food festival states, Maine would be carved right in the center. Name a food or drink category, and you’re bound to find a festival for it somewhere in the state.
Maine has a lot of food festivals that date back quite a ways. However, one of the newer ones continues to grow and is quickly becoming one of the finest out there. It’s also coming up soon, so I hope you're ready for the 2026 edition of the Rockport Donut Festival.
Now in its fourth year, the Rockport Donut Festival is a celebration of all things—well, donuts. This year’s event takes place on June 12 and 13, bringing together donut makers from across the state and encouraging them to create themed donuts for everyone to enjoy.
Festivalgoers can devour these donuts while also enjoying food from local vendors and live music. It’s fun for the whole family and a wonderful way to celebrate something with deep roots in Maine’s Midcoast region. Admission to the Rockport Donut Festival is free; however, donations will be accepted to help cover event costs.

Some of the donut vendors for this year’s event include Holy Donut, Eighty 8 Donuts, Thee Only Doughnut, Ruckus Donuts, and Old Time Donuts. There will also be many non-donut vendors, including numerous local food trucks. You can find out more about all the vendors, along with additional information on Rockport and Midcoast Maine’s connection to donut history—like its link to the invention of the donut hole.
