There are two things that Wayne Martin has always loved since he was a teenager: the Patriots and WBLM.

Now the 58-year-old Standish man can add the Football Pick'em game to the things he loves after he came out on top with the highest score at season's end!

"This is great, thank you!" said Martin during a telephone interview from his home. Martin picked 178 winners out of the total 256 games played during the regular 17-week NFL season. He ended up with a 69.53% winning percentage.

Martin is now eligible to predict the halftime score for $1,000 and final score of Super Bowl 50 on Feb. 1 for another $1,000. If he can predict both of those scores correctly, he is also eligible to win the grand prize of $10,000!

Martin said he grew up in Bangor and has been a loyal Blimpster since the 1970s. He said he has followed the Patriots as long as he has listened to the Blimp 102.9. He said he would often to go concerts in Portland the Blimp was always his number one station. Before moving to Standish six years ago, Martin said he lived in Portland for a few years.

This was the first year that WBLM.com did the Football Pick'em game and Martin said he really enjoyed playing it.

"I liked that it was just straight out," he said. "Basically, it was just picking the winner, no spreads," he added.
