Are you ready for some free live music to start your weekend? Then, come on down to Portland's First Friday Art Walk this Friday, October 1. Over 3,000 people come downtown on the first Friday of each month to visit galleries and museums, see live performances, buy work from street artists, and greet friends as they stroll along city streets.
And now, Creative Portland, who organizes the First Friday Art Walk, has added a free concert to the festivities! The show starts at 5 pm, and this Friday's lineup includes live performances by:
● Maine Marimba Ensemble
The weather looks excellent for showtime, with clouds and zero percent chance of rain. A perfect Autumn evening in Portland!

"Hearing extraordinary outdoor performances under the Maine skies with diverse audiences and passersby is what makes Portland a unique arts destination and music mecca for indie musicians and local performing artists, "says Dinah Minot, Executive Director of Creative Portland, who spearheaded the Summer Stage series. "While the weather welcomes the community gathering, we are proud to offer the concerts for free to the public during First Friday Art Walk. We hope to continue the series in the Spring."
