State Police Remind Drivers Not to Be This Guy When Driving on The Highway
People do a lot of things they should know better than to do on Maine's highways. The Maine State Police want to remind you of one that should be common sense, but to this guy, not so much.
We all miss our exit once in a while. Let's face it, driving on I-295 or I-95 can be pretty mundane. Your mind wanders thinking about what you'll have for dinner tonight or how many more epsiodes you can binge watch of Better Call Saul on Netflix. Then all of a sudden, there it is. Your exit! You missed it. What do you do? If you said turn around into the ditch and drive back to your missed exit it, you lose.
That's exactly what this guy did when he missed his exit on I-295 near Topsham. He figured if he just turned around and headed back in the ditch on the side of the road, that'd be cool. He didn't get very far before State Police saw him and he ended up with a $165 ticket. He's lucky he didn't get worse.
"Wrong Way" signs count for when your're in the ditch too FYI. If you miss your exit, do the right thing and just get off at the next one and turn around safely. Mmmkay?
