Attending a Portland Sea Dogs game is an item high on many Mainers' bucket lists. In recent years the Portland Sea Dogs have been changing it up for specialty nights. New name, new logo, new fun to be had.

Already this year they have been the Alces de Maine, the Maine Whoopie Pies, and the Maine Red Snappers. Each specialty day pays tribute to something Maine-related. Alces is the Spanish word for moose, whoopie pies are the Maine state dessert, and red snappers have a long history here in Maine.

Next month, for one night only, the Portland Sea Dogs become the Bean Suppahs.

You'd be hard-pressed to find a weekend where there are no bean suppers around the state. They're often at local grange halls and churches bringing communities together with the promise of baked beans and hot dogs.

Announced earlier this year, the game is scheduled for Saturday, August 13th at 6 pm where the Bean Suppahs take on the Richmond Flying Squirrels.

In addition to changing the name, Hadlock is leaning into the theme by serving Maine Bean Suppahs! There will be an all-you-can-eat buffet in the Gifford's Pavillion starting an hour before game time and going through the first hour of the game for $30. Or you can have a single order through a designated concessions window in the concourse.
