With all the cold weather we've had these past few days, The Rink at Thompson's Point is ready for their grand opening this Saturday.

If you've been eagerly waiting to lace up your skates and take the family to the rink for a fun day of ice skating, this is your weekend. The grand opening is Saturday, their earliest opening ever. The Rink will remain open Wednesdays through Sundays until February 23.

With 10,000 square feet of ice, there's plenty of room for everyone. Your admission ticket gets you unlimited skating for the day and you can get yours through Seize the Deal right now.

A 4-pack of tickets including skate rentals is half price at $22. Season passes are half off as well at only $45. Hit the link buttons below to get yours.

Fun Fact:

The canopy that covers the rink to keep the elements out is one third of the old train shed that provided shelter for trains and passengers at Union Station. You can see the shed to the far right of the station in this photo.

When Union Station was demolished in 1961 and replaced with the Union Station Plaza strip mall, this section of the shed was relocated to Thompson's point where it was used as storage until it was refurbished and now used as canopy of The Rink.

The only other surviving piece of Union Station is the clock which can be found housed in a small structure in Congress Square Park.
