This 3D Mini Golf Course in Maine Will Give You a Whole New Way To Look at the Game
Miniature golf is a game for all ages that has mostly remained unchanged for 100 years. Put your ball through a course of obstacles, twists and turns and get it in the hole with as few strokes as possible. But the game we all know and love has a whole new look at a new course in Old Orchard Beach.
Jungle Adventure Mini Golf is an indoor, blacklight 3D experience like no other. And yes, we know that a mini golf course is naturally 3D, but through the use of fluorescent paint on the course and walls glowing in the dark while wearing your 3D glasses, it really pops!
Jungle Adventure Mini Golf opened in June 2020 right in the middle of the pandemic and only remained open through October, closing their planned winter season just to be on the safe side of things. This summer, as COVID restrictions were lifted, it was game on!
This 18 hole course sets itself apart from the other mini golf courses in town. Hot day at the beach? This course is fully air-conditioned and is a great break from laying on the beach.
You might miss it though as you drive down toward the pier in Old Orchard Beach. It's in the former location of AIJ Shoe Warehouse right about halfway down on the right at 29 Old Orchard Street. You can't miss the sign when you're looking for it.
And my favorite attraction is the pinball collection available to play in the lobby.
There are some great games here since one of the owners is a pinball collector and is gracious enough to have a bunch of his games available to the public. $1 a play and if you get a good enough score you can win a free game. If you play Rick and Morty, listen carefully to the voice for the mode "Roy: A Life Well Lived." That voice of the narrator is yours truly. It's the perfect connection if you are a Rick and Morty fan and know that Roy's last name is Parsons.
