Hunter Law is his name and when you look at his art you'll be taken to a world of appreciation for Maine's stunning and evolving wildlife. I stumbled upon Hunter's work on the Facebook page called, MAINE Wildlife.

As I scrolled through his pieces, I felt instantly drawn towards the animal and the story Hunter was telling through his depiction of that creature.

Hunter Law works out of Bangor and shows us what Maine's Wildlife looks like through an entirely different lens. His depiction of the creatures and unique style will take you to a place of raw appreciation.

I was able to talk to Hunter and he opened my eyes even more to the ever-growing beauty and deep emotion that our wildlife in Maine holds.

Below is a video of Hunter working on a piece and he posted it to his Instagram.

Hunter's ability to tell a story that is unique when creating art on our animals, shows off their purity and innocence.

His unique tough of having trees grow through the specific animal is a perfect way marrying wildlife to nature.

Hunter says,

I’m drawn to Wildlife because of the endless lessons and metaphors that can be derived from the symbiotic relationships between the animal and their surrounding habitat. The purity you find in nature is nothing short of staggering — it’s sort of like, something approaching divinity. It’s no wonder people say, “nature is my church”.

It speaks wisdom, and if you just listen, you’ll find something worth while.

I listened and I found that his brush strokes held wonder and a circumstantial weight of talent that he shares through his subjects. As I sat viewing his collection, I felt a deep appreciation and story of each animals life, all captured in just one image. It's all encompassing.

Hunter goes onto say,

I paint the animals with trees coming out of their bodies to portray that the animals aren’t just in their environment but a part of it - a deep rooted connection. It’s a simple visual representation of an idea that can be easily understood by the viewer. I enjoy sharing these paintings with the Maine Wildlife group on Facebook because there’s something special about individuals building a community around a common fascination for these animals. I know this community will appreciate my depiction of our states wildlife.
MAINE Wildlife Facebook page has over a 100,000 members and growing.
Hunter works as a full time artist now. If you'd like to take a look at what Hunter is coming up with next you can visit his Website Here to you purchase one of his art pieces or also visit his Instagram or Facebook Page.
