This Saturday is National Drug Take Back Day. According to the DEA:

"The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse and medications."

Most abused prescription drugs come right from family and friends so it's good to get this stuff out of the house. It's weird to think you could inadvertently be giving someone drugs. Studies show many who of those who are addicted to opiods started out by stealing or buying old pills from friends and family.

It's that time of year again, Drug Take Back Day for Fall 2017 will be Saturday, October 28th from 10 AM to 2 PM.

The locations this year in Portland ME will be

1. Walgreen's at 616 Forest Ave

2. Back Bay Running Path parking lot on Preble St. Ext.

3. Portland PD lobby at 109 Middle St.
