Dear J&F,

Your job is far from easy.

Through early morning hours, 9 a.m. rushes, and mobs from high school lunch breaks, you bustle through the busyness with smiles on your faces.

If America runs on Dunkin, then the Old Port runs on the One City Center location.

From open to close, you are running around whether it’s dealing with lines out the door or the pile-up of mobile orders.

Most employees may find themselves burnt out, short-tempered, or too busy dealing with orders to pay any attention to customer service.

But not you two.

Regardless of how many things you have going on at once or how overwhelming the shop gets, you treat each customer and one another with patience and respect and it does not go unnoticed. You are even kind and respectful to those who don’t reciprocate!

I was in the store this morning getting my almost daily order of hash browns and the customer in front of me was causing a wee bit of a scene over an espresso he ordered but didn’t actually want.

I can only imagine some of the interactions you must witness on a daily basis. People get unnecessarily upset over simple things, are cranky getting their coffee, and even sometimes treat employees with disrespect.

You two never let impatient or rude customers shake you down and if you're tired or frustrated, you never show it. You continue to treat each person who walks through that door with kindness and respect.

Thank you for being you. Thank you for your kindness, your patience, and for always starting my morning on a positive note.

You are appreciated!

TOP SPOTS IN MAINE WITH AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE

In Maine, it's not hard to find businesses, restaurants, and shops with great customer service. It could be we are that way because of the many tourists that visit us. Or it just might be our stubborn Yankee roots that we like to treat people the way we want to be treated.
