4/25/1960 (59 years ago today) - It was his first single after that two-year gig in the U.S. Army: Elvis Presley starts four weeks at No. 1 with the ridiculously catchy "Stuck On You", and an amazing stat to boot: one million copies were ordered before it was even recorded!! The King's first chart topper of the 1960's (and thirteenth overall) rates among his very best, and that's sayin' something, kids. Frankly, we don't know how you can not love this one:

4/25/1970 (49 years ago today) - Speaking of infectious hit singles...: The Jackson Five's "ABC" goes to No. 1 for two consecutive weeks (though it hangs around the charts for a considerably much longer period of time); it was the groups second Billboard chart topper -- Actually, all four of their first four singles went to Numero Uno -- "I Want You Back" was first; then after "ABC", you had "The Love You Save" followed by "I'll Be There" -- They all went to No. 1! A superb pop run indeed...

4/20/1987 (32 years ago today) - U2 begin their five week reign at No. 1 on the album chart with "The Joshua Tree", their fifth studio LP, which would go on to become one of the world's all-time best selling albums (over 25 million copiesand it achieved No. 1 status in 20 different countries! "With Or Without You", "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For", "Where The Streets Have No Name", "Bullet The Blue Sky", "Running To Stand Still" -- An amazing, stupendous, inspiring piece of work which easily picked up the Grammy Award for Album of the Year -- There's no doubt it's U2's landmark masterpiece, and everybody on the planet should have a copy...
