8/20/1979 (38 years ago today) - Bob Dylan released his 19th studio album "Slow Train Coming" -- Though generally well-reviewed by critics, Zimmy's first foray into Christianity alienated many of his longtime fans, especially on the tour that followed during which Bob refused to play any of his older material. An interesting-not-as-bizarre-as-you-might-have-thought phase for the old beguiling curmudgeon. Hey, you got Mark Knopfler on guitar (on the album anyway), and you can't argue that some of the live performances that came afterwards were rather convincing, like this one:

8/20/1986 (32 years ago today) - Admit it, you never really thought it would happen, but it did: At The Monsters Of Rock Festival, Castle Donington, England, Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen makes his first live concert appearance with the band after losing an arm in a car accident!
